CASCADE is providing funding to cover study fees and to support living costs for 10 doctoral projects. Candidates will study one of the 10 doctoral projects listed below:
PhD1: Computer-assisted exploration of lexicalisation through time (University of Sheffield, UK)
PhD2: Automating the analysis of concepts through time (University of Sheffield, UK)
PhD3: The prototype structure of concept drift (Katholieke Universiteit Leuven, Belgium)
PhD4: Underlying dimensions in conceptual change (Katholieke Universiteit Leuven, Belgium)
PhD5: Measuring Change in Irish Literature (University College Cork, Ireland)
PhD6: Analysing Parallel Texts (University College Cork, Ireland)
PhD9: Political vocabulary of eighteenth-century Britain (University of Helsinki, Finland)
Project Timeline
Each project is a full-time PhD position with a start date of September 2024 and a completion date of September 2027.
Each PhD candidate will be co-supervised by two academics within the consortium; they will be based at one of the universities of CASCADE and visit the university of their co-supervisor for a research stay, as well as have a shorter internship at an associated partner. They will be expected to participate in full in the training programme, consisting of summer schools, workshops, a regular online seminar, and other activities.
