Training Objectives
In addition to our four research objectives, the network will deliver a programme of high quality, advanced training in next-generation computational linguistic and text analytic methodologies, focused around specific humanities datasets and research problems, in order to:
- Equip early-stage researchers with the technical skills, ideas and methodologies necessary for undertaking longitudinal semantic analysis of large textual collections. In essence, this will involve the researchers developing and refining computational linguistic and text analytic approaches (technical, applied, and qualitative) that are able to computationally retrieve meaning from large and diverse datasets.
- Provide early-stage researchers with transferable skills that have value to data-related problems and sectors, both academic and non-academic, beyond the humanities. The intention is to raise their understanding of employability within the data economy and make them aware of educational opportunities and responsibilities.
- Promote research mobility from one country to another for the purpose of further study and employment.
- Train a new generation of early-stage researchers who will be representative of European research talent, insisting on communication, tolerance, and equal opportunities to researchers of all genders, ethnicities, religious beliefs and abilities/disabilities from all countries.
- Ensure that projects support, reinforce and benefit one another to facilitate the exchange of ideas and methodologies between all participants: researchers, academic and non-academic beneficiaries, and partners.
